As proud alumni of José Rizal University College of Law, we know the grit, sleepless nights, and unshakable determination it takes to prepare for the Bar Exams. This year, as the PAGSIKHAY spirit inspires our 2025 baristas on September 7, 10, and 14, Reviva Skin Lab, co-founded by two JRU-trained lawyers, is giving back to our alma mater in the best way we know how: by helping future lawyers look and feel their best. Through our special wellness partnership, we’re offering complimentary and post-bar facial treatments designed to refresh tired minds, restore confidence, and remind every barista that self-care is a powerful part of success.

From Law School Halls to Skincare Halls

My journey at José Rizal University College of Law began in 2019, when we still enjoyed the energy and camaraderie of face-to-face classes during our first year. But by 2020, the pandemic transformed everything, we shifted fully online for the rest of our law school years, navigating recitations, exams, and even leadership work through a screen. It was a test of adaptability, discipline, and focus unlike any we had faced before. Amid those challenging times, I found ways to contribute to our community, including co-founding the PDLP (Purpose Driven Leadership Party) with my party mates, an idea that started with my vision for what student leadership could stand for. One of my batchmates from those formative years, Atty. Dana Mae Padre, is now Reviva Skin Lab’s Marketing Head, bringing the same creativity and drive she showed in law school to our brand. Together, we carry forward the resilience, integrity, and self-care mindset we built during our JRU years, principles now deeply woven into Reviva’s mission of helping people rejuvenate, revive, and radiate confidence.

Why This Year’s Bar Matters to Us

The 2025 Bar Exams are set for September 7, 10, and 14: three Sundays that will define the journey of every aspiring lawyer who has poured years into study and sacrifice. I know exactly how this season feels, because I have been there. During my own bar review, I left the comfort of home and rented a small condo just behind JRU so I could be fully immersed in my preparation. Every day, I reviewed in the JRU library side by side with my constant study partners, Atty. Dana Mae Padre and our past Law Student Council President, Atty. Ervin Osorio. Those months were some of the most grueling in my life, physically exhausting, mentally relentless, and emotionally taxing.

That’s why this year’s PAGSIKHAY theme resonates so deeply with me. It stands for diligence, effort, and perseverance, the same values that carried us through sleepless nights, countless practice exams, and the pressure of knowing our dreams were just within reach. To every 2025 barista, know that we understand your struggle not in theory, but in lived experience, and we’re here to support you in any way we can.
